YOU’RE ALL WHY ARE WE HERE AND I’M ALL BECAUSE OF SEX AND YOU’RE ALL
YOU’RE NOT AS FUNNY AS YOU THINK YOU ARE AND I’M ALL I’M NOT JOKING

My body cannot contain my body, I’m finding
pieces of myself all over the yard,
I’m causing earthquakes in neighboring states,
tornadoes and tidal waves, I’m in too deep
and outliving even the vampire squids
who live forever, or something like it: something
sustains down there, the darkness of the ocean floor,
a half-mile down from any part of this world
we might recognize. There’s a joke
about whom an atheist talks to during orgasms—
I can’t remember the punchline
but I’m asking: give me another chance.
