LIVING-LEAVING

As a child,
I used to drop neatly cut papers between window bars
Cuz my beautiful, beautiful mind said it was money.
I turned twelve,
And promised to never look back at stage-plays
And stories when that boy called me ugly.
I’m of legal age,
And I don’t look at my body
Scared I’ll see imaginary handprints all over my skin.
I don’t know when I’ll die,
But I’m scared of dying
As my faith whispers, I’ll be burdened with this life in the next one too.
