EATING THE EVIDENCE

i’m always waking and i have a strong sense of taste: your ex-boyfriend was inappropriate for the things you enjoy doing: i always waking and your body is a film inside my mouth as i sleep: a lone spider hangs from a long thread from the ceiling fan and i’m always waking and wonder how many i might swallow snoring with my mouth agape: sure, more than darkness can crawl in but there’s a small opening in the roof of the mouth it could hide out in: initially it could tickle and as i’ve said i’m always waking and it’s disheartening but i’m losing my taste: i feel like i’ve just parachuted off a plane without a silk dragline and you’ve become that spider whose web i’ve ruptured

i’m learning these days are more about the palate
