MASC BREAKFAST
for my friend, Will Madden
I ate a cloud for breakfast,
and now I am hydrated.
Thirst: quenched. Belly: full.
I can do anything now!
So I stare straight into the sun,
and it only hurt a good bit.
Like a skinned knee
from falling at recess.
The closest thing a man like me
gets to recess is drinking whisky
and smoking cigarettes by the river,
making sure to leave a little litter
on the ground before I go.
But whisky gives me diarrhea
in the morning, and cigarettes
slow me down when I sprint.
So now Iām sticking to clouds and air.
Clouds and air, baby!
