STABLE AS JELLO
Needled to smithereens,
ovulating turbulent marmalade
from this harrowed
hourglass.
Palo verde pollen
thick in the throat,
prickly pear spears my liver.
This punctured hide
courting colonies.
Melanoma, angioma,
feeding on vessels.
Running a wheelchair
through dirt,
cicadas camouflaged in trees
screaming in unison.
The whole place wavering—
hardwood floor
stable as jello.
